DELTA, Ohio (AP) -- The State Highway Patrol says a fugitive from Wisconsin took his own life after being chased by troopers in northwest Ohio.
The patrol says officers gave pursuit Sunday after a check of the license plate showed the car had been reported stolen last week. Wisconsin authorities say 44-year-old Mark Peters failed to return from work-release on March 14. Peters was serving a one-year jail sentence for disorderly conduct and domestic abuse.
With troopers after him, Peters exited the Ohio Turnpike at state Route 109 in Fulton County, crashing through the toll gate.
