One Person Dies in Springfield Fire Scene

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio -- Investigators say one person was killed in a fire early Friday in Springfield.   The name of age of the victim has not been released.

The flames broke out at 1805 South Sweetbriar Lane around 12:30 a.m. Firefighters found flames coming out of the home and melting the siding of the home next door.

Members of the Springfield Fire & Rescue Division were still on the scene as of 8 a.m.

Crime scene investigators from the Springfield Police Division were also at the house, which is on southeast side of Springfield.

No other details have been released.
